ZEF 10 year conference on"Global Change and Human Development: Research and Action" in Bonn, October 4-5 2007.

The Center for Development Research (ZEF) looks back on a successful conference with fruitful discussions on the overall theme of "Global Change and Human Development: Research and Action".

Around 250 people attended the event taking place in ZEF and the "Haus der Geschichte", listening to speeches by Per Pinstrup-Andersen and Klaus Töpfer, to panel discussions on land and water use, governance and biodiversity, as well as to a plenary panel discussion on the interaction between development research, politics, and practice. The latter took place among high-ranking representatives of the German federal ministries of science and development, as well as of international think-tanks such as the Overseas Development Institute (Simon Maxwell).

We would like to thank all those having participated in the conference and contributed to its success. We were also happy to have so many ZEF alumni with us, sharing their experiences and views with the up-and-coming generation of doctoral students at ZEF.
