Selection and Admission

Selection is carried out on a competitive basis. There are four steps in the selection process:

  1. Once we have received your complete application package, we will sent you an acknowledgment at the e-mail address indicated by you at the time of registration.
  2. Applications are initially screened by staff members of ZEF for academic qualification, recommendations and research proposal. Some of the short listed candidates are interviewed at ZEF in Bonn or alternatively via telephone or via Internet.
  3. The selection committee consisting of the directors and staff members of ZEF and delegates from the DAAD will decide upon the DAAD scholarship.
  4. Qualified candidates who cannot be offered a scholarship will be put on a waiting list and/or receive a letter of acceptance to assist them in seeking financial assistance at other institutions/foundations.
  5. Candidates on the waiting list will be accepted only in case the already accepted candidate fails to join the program.
