Objective I
I.1: Theoretical reflection on and assessment of experiences with interdisciplinary research on NRM.
I.2: Implementation of interdisciplinary approaches in concrete situations: concepts, models and methodologies.
Research under I.1 critically investigates the notion of ‘interdisciplinarity’ and reflects upon the achievements, or lack of them, in the field of natural resources management to marry natural and social science perspectives in more comprehensive analyses.
Under I.2 interdisciplinary research on NRM across the natural/social science boundary is done. The leading question is which concepts, models and methodologies are practically useful, and what are their strengths and weaknesses.
