This research group has been established with support from the Robert-Bosch Foundation. Project period: April 2001 - March 2006
The project aims to contribute to an understanding of the impacts of devolution and the role of communities for the management of natural resources in developing countries. Researchers from different fields and countries work together in order to analyze the key factors and policies affecting the efficiency, the environmental sustainability, and the equity outcomes and the long-run dynamics of alternative property rights regimes. A further aim of the project is the development of an innovative methodology allowing to address these issues empirically and to predict the impacts of particular policy measures and changes in external conditions.
