With the following, we provide you with all relevant information to reach the hotels and the venue of the congress

Venue
The Higher Education Forum will take place in the Gustav-Stresemann Institute (GSI) in Bonn. Some participants will be accommodated there, others in the Hotel Bristol and Hotel Eden

How to reach Bonn from the airports?

Arrival at the Cologne/Bonn airport (Flughafen Köln/Bonn):

Take an airport shuttle bus 670 to the final bus stop Bonn “Hauptbahnhof” (Bonn main train station).

Tip: You may book an international flight to Germany (via Frankfurt) or Europe (via Paris, London or Amsterdam) including a connecting flight to Cologne/Bonn without extra charges and so save the train ticket to Bonn. Ask your travel agent!

Arrival at the Düsseldorf airport:

The airport has a train station, which you can reach from the terminal by the sky train. The train to Bonn main train station (“Hauptbahnhof”) via Cologne takes about 1 hour. Sometimes you have to change trains in Düsseldorf or Cologne main train station. The train ticket costs around 20 Euros.

Arrival at the Frankfurt airport:

There are two train stations at the airport, one for far-distance (Fernbahnhof) and one for local trains (Nahverkehr). The trains to Bonn depart from the “Fernbahnhof”. There are two train routes to Bonn, the super-fast track, which takes only 45 minutes from the Frankfurt airport to the station “Bonn-Siegburg” or the track along the river Rhine valley via the city of Mainz, which takes about 1:45 hours.

The super-fast track is more expensive (44 Euros). There is a train every hour from the Frankfurt airport to the station “Bonn-Siegburg”. Take a train, which stops in “Bonn-Siegburg”, otherwise you will end up in Cologne!

The route along the Rhine valley is very beautiful. You can see many castles and wine yards from the train. The train ticket costs around 30 Euros. There is also a train every hour to Bonn. Sometimes, you have to change trains in Mainz. Get off the train at the stop “Bonn Hauptbahnhof” (Bonn main train station).

How to reach your hotel and the Gustav Stresemann Institute (GSI) in Bonn?

Those, who come from the Cologne/Bonn airport or Düsseldorf airport travel directly to the main train station of Bonn (Bonn Hauptbahnhof).

From the station “Bonn-Siegburg”, you have to take a streetcar number 66 (Strassenbahn) underneath the train station, which reaches Bonn in 30 minutes. The one-way fare is 3.65 Euros. You have to leave the tram at the stop ”Bonn Hauptbahnhof”, main train station of Bonn.

The two hotels, Hotel Bristol and Hotel Eden, are very close to the “Hauptbahnhof”.

From the ”Bonn Hauptbahnhof”, you reach the Gustav Stresemann Institute (GSI) by subway lines 16 and 63 to Bad Godesberg and get off at the stop “Max-Löbner-Straße”. The GSI is at the end of the Max-Löbner-Straße, about 200 meters from the tram stop.

Accomodation:

The participants are accommodated in the Gustav Stresemann Institut (GSI), the venue of our conference, and in two hotels, Bristol and Eden, both in the city center of Bonn.

We have booked single rooms for all participants from Monday, May 31th (day of arrival) through June 4th (day of departure). In case you arrive earlier or stay longer, it must be at your own expenses (55, 99 and 80 Euros at the GSI, Hotel Bristol and Hotel Eden, respectively). We can try to make a reservation for you, if you inform us at least 1 week in advance.

We have organized a transfer from the hotels Bristol and Eden to the GSI, the venue of the conference. Please be in the lobby of your hotel at 8:00 on June 1st, in the morning.

There are also double rooms available, in case you come with your spouse. Please inform us in advance by e-mail, so that we can book a double room for you. The costs of your single room, and food (breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee breaks) are covered by us, but you have to pay the extra costs for your spouse. The extra expenses for a double room including breakfast are 88, 20, or 26 Euros per day at the GSI, Hotel Eden and Hotel Bristol, respectively.
