ZEF theme: Environmental and climate change

Environmental and climate change

Natural resources form the basis for human livelihoods and development. The depletion of natural resources, loss of biodiversity, as well as human-induced landscape and land use changes are putting critical stress on the global environment. Understanding these changes is a prerequisite for designing policies and actions to alter the course of events or temper their effects. Science plays a key role in delivering this information for adequate and timely policies and action. ZEF tackles these issues from a ecological, economic and social perspective.
