The Challenge of Knowledge Sharing - Practices of the Vietnamese Science Community in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta

This PhD research seeks to investigate how and by whom scientific knowledge on water resources is produced, disseminated and applied by Vietnamese research institutes and universities as well as the local authorities in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta. It aims to get a comprehensive understanding of local research organizations by investigating their internal and external structures that determine research activities.

So far, it is unknown how scientific knowledge on water resources in the Mekong Delta is produced and managed by Vietnamese organizations. Applying the concept of knowledge management in this field in Vietnam will facilitate the analysis of existing organizational structures, human resources, research projects and publications and finally contribute to local knowledge management procedures of the science and research community in Vietnam.
