Uzbekistan project featured at UN Day in Bonn on October 25, 2008
The Uzbekistan project was at the heart of the exhibition tent comprising several Bonn University institutes.
The UN day in Bonn is an annual event attracting thousands of visitors.
Visitors, including the mayor of Bonn, were offered Uzbek tea while having a talk with the project's researchers.
This year's overall theme was the role of geo sciences in achieving the UN Millennium Development Goals.

UN Action day of Deserts and Desertifikation
Beside other ZEF projects the Khorezm project was presented on the occasion of the “International Day of Desertification” in Bonn on June 10 2006. Several NGOs and institutions presented their activities in the former parliament building, parallel to a panel discussion in the “Deutsche Welle” on desertification.
Opening of laboratories and office in Urgench
A new office and laboratories for the Uzbekistan Project of the Center for Development Research (ZEF) of the University of Bonn were officially inaugurated on May 28 2003 by the German Ambassador to Uzbekistan and the Deputy Hakim (Governor).
