Christoph Antons has a background in law, Southeast Asian studies and art history.

Christoph has held academic positions at Deakin University, the University of Wollongong, Charles Darwin University, La Trobe University and Griffith University and visiting fellow, senior fellow and/or visiting teaching appointments at Stanford Law School, University of Melbourne, Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property Law, Queensland University of Technology, Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Private Law, Graduate School of International Development at University of Nagoya, International Institute of Asian Studies at Leiden University, IP Academy Singapore and the University of Surabaya in Indonesia.
