Designed, budgeted and implemented a 10-month field research on ‘local water management’; coordinated teamwork with a research assistant; handled administration and research permission applications; interviewed experts, state officials, farmers and companies; organised group discussions; performed participant observation of the seasonal irrigation activities of rice farmers; and wrote field reports.

CHIANG MAI UNIVERSITY, Chiang Mai, Thailand

Designed and implemented three-month field research on ‘two types of irrigation system management’: handeld research permission; arranged field observation; carried on interviews in state agencies, local state and farmers in irrigation management; coordinated work with two assistants; budgeted; and wrote reports to supervisor in the Netherlands.
