Abstract:  The Child Growth Monitor (CGM) is a mobile app to detect and measure all forms of malnutrition for children below 5 years of age. It uses image data collected with a smartphone and Artificial Intelligence to measure the child’s body and produce anthropometry results. Based on infrared and 3D scan technologies the app replaces manual anthropometric measurements taken through a measuring board, MUAC tape and scale. It eliminates human error and provides an alternative, easy to handle solution for the humanitarian community and health workers addressing malnutrition in emergencies, prolonged food insecure settings and in the general child health (development) sector.
