AFAS Summer School

The 2nd AFAS Summer School at ZEF will take place from August 26 to September 6, 2024, and bring together twenty-one Master’s and two PhD students from various West and East African countries in Germany to participate in a dynamic and comprehensive activity program.

Participants will have the opportunity to gain invaluable insights from a distinguished line-up of speakers, each bringing unique perspectives and expertise to the event. Thus, the Summer School will be featuring a blend of lectures and workshops. 

A highlight of the program is the student symposium on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, where students will present their thesis topics, providing a platform for innovative academic exchange on Nature-based Solutions (NbS). In addition, participants will engage in an excursion to explore NbS around Bonn and visit institutions such as the UNCCD and UNU-EHS. 

The sessions on August 27 and 29, as well as on September 4, 5 and 6, are open and therefore open to interested colleagues at ZEF. 

The program will be posted on the door of the conference room.
