Abstract:
The paper employs a dynamic model that shows how different types of land tenancy contracts and contract duration influence farmers’ investment decisions in soil improvement and productive inputs. Household and plot-level data from the Brong-Ahafo Region in Ghana is used to provide some empirical evidence to support the theoretical predictions from the model.
