ZEF participates in 5th World Water Forum 2009

Iskandar Abdullaev (Senior Researcher in the ZEF/UNESCO Uzbekistan project) and Ahmad Manschadi (Project coordinator of the ZEF/UNESCO project) are going to participate in the 5th World Water Forum in Istanbul, Turkey: www.worldwatercouncil.org/index.php.

 

Abdullaev will present a paper at the session on Government Issues (open space) titled “Socio-technical analysis of water management: a methodology and its application in Uzbekistan. A case study from the Khorezm region.” (Authors: Iskandar Abdullaev, Peter Mollinga, Ahmad Manschadi). His participation will be funded by the PAID program of WWF 5.

 

Manschadi will present the ZEF/UNESCO project in Uzbekistan within the framework of Topic 2.4. “Multiple use and functions of water services”.

 

The 5th World Water Forum is organized by the Turkish Ministry of the Environment and Forests, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the City of Istanbul and the World Water Council. The WWF is one of the main international conferences and a major event on Water related issues. The fourth WWF, taking place in Mexico in 2006, was attended by around 15,000 experts from all over the world.
