"Hidden hunger" hits around 2 billion people worldwide

March 05, 2015.

ZEF-director Joachim von Braun gave the opening key note at the Congress "Hidden Hunger" on March 4, 2015 in Stuttgart.

In his talk, von Braun pointed out that micro-nutrient deficiencies, called "hidden hunger", affect 2 billion people worldwide. He stressed that hidden hunger is not just a public health, food, and agriculture issue. Its root causes are complex problems of policy and market failures. These failures must be addressed by public policy, communications, and civil society movements.
