Workshop at ZEF brought together experts on Cambodia and Vietnam

ZEF organized an international workshop on "Civil society in Vietnam and Cambodia: Concepts and discourses - diversity in practice" from January 18-20, 2012. Around 20 scholars from all over the world participated in the “write-workshop”, discussing current developments in both countries related to civil society and co-authoring a book comprising the latest insights and research on the region.
The double public lecture event on January 18 with talks by Prof. Dr. Adam Fforde (Asia Institute, University of Melbourne, Australia) on: "State, civil society and politics: Vietnam – a land without a king?" and Sedara Kim
(Senior Fellow, Cambodia Development Resource Institute, Phnom Penh)
on "Taking their place in society: A gendered analysis of local governance reform in post-conflict Cambodia" was attended by more than 60 people.
