February 14, 2019.
ZEF hosted the 25th Jour fixe of Bonn.realis, a regional network with the overall goal of developing and advancing innovative solutions for quality and crisis communication in the future field of food security and human safety.
The main topic of this meeting was "One Health and Digitization".
Prof. Dr. Christian Borgemeister presented the research activities of ZEF. PhD student Philip Swoboda, who is part of the NRW Fortschrittskolleg "One Health and Urban Transformation - Identification of Risks, Development of Sustainable Solutions", presented his current research project. He investigates the use of rock meal in agriculture as a sustainable fertilizer.
"One Health and Urban Transformation - Identification of Risks, Development of Sustainable Solutions" is carried out in cooperation between ZEF, the University of Applied Sciences Rhein-Sieg (HBRS) and the United Nations University - Institute for Environment and Human Security in Bonn (UNU-EHS). These research institutions are three of a total of 21 Bonn.realis members from research, administration and industry.
The members of Bonn.realis then exchanged information on current project plans and cooperation opportunities, such as calls for tenders at state, federal or EU level. Bonn.realis serves as a network and platform to exchange innovative ideas for research projects and to develop IT solutions for quality and crisis communications.
