Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a qualified candidate to serve as Research Fellow/ Sr. Research Fellow specializing in agricultural and rural development strategy for a three-year, fixed-term, renewable appointment for its Development Strategy and Governance Division. This position is based in Washington DC but will involve frequent travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Conduct research, capacity strengthening and policy communications in support of IFPRI's program of activities on agricultural and rural development policy and strategies.
- Provide intellectual leadership to a team of approximately six researchers.
- Develop collaborative programs across divisions within IFPRI and with local researchers in several developing countries.
- Help raise resources for the team's activities.
- Timely completion of research projects, actively publish papers/books.
- Participate in various conferences, policy advisory forums, and capacity strengthening training programs. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ph D in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Public Policy or a closely related field.
- Seven or more years of post-Ph D research and outreach experience in development issues.
- Experience in research on policy issues, related to agricultural and rural development with internationally recognized publications.
- Knowledge of and experience working in developing
countries.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Experience in policy making or advisory position, and
strong team-building and networking skills preferred.

Faculty of Economics and Econometrics Department of Business Studies Faculty Positions in Management The Faculty of Economics and Econometrics (FEE) of the Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA) has over 3,000 students in Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics and Econometrics. It also has research programmes in these areas. The Faculty employs approximately 400 people. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The successful applicants will undertake and help coordinate research and teaching in the field of management broadly defined. The Department of Business Studies has a broad profile and includes strategy, organisation, marketing, international business, information management, sustainable management, finance and accounting. Requirements for all posts are a PhD, the ability to initiate and implement international standard research, demonstrated teaching excellence, and the ability to teach in English. The ability to stimulate and encourage the research of others and a significant international publication record are additional requirements for the full professors positions. Short listed candidates will be asked to give a seminar or lecture. If the appointee does not speak Dutch she/he is expected to acquire a reasonable knowledge of the language within two years. The salary for these positions will be on the salary scale for professors or assistant/associate professors at Dutch universities and in accordance with the collective agreement regulating employment conditions at Dutch universities. The date on which the appointment is to begin will be determined by mutual agreement, preferably early 2005. The assistant professor appointments involve tenure- track positions, with an appointment for initially three years, to become tenured upon proven suitability.

Faculty Position in Finance The University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee is seeking a full-time, nine-month, instructor in the department of Finance. Position #12611. Salary is negotiable. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Required qualifications: Ph.D. in finance or economics (ABD acceptable if degree completed by 8/05); must have minimum of 18 graduate credit-hours in finance; evidence of quality teaching of a variety of finance courses in undergraduate and MBA programs; and strong interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred teaching interests in investments, financial markets and financial institutions. Secondary teaching areas in international finance, corporate finance, and economics desirable.
