Senior Program Officer – Natural Capital Project (WWF)

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the global conservation organization, seeks a Senior Program Officer to lead the policy and finance work of the Natural Capital Project. This Project is a collaboration among WWF, The Nature Conservancy, and Stanford University, focused on integrating ecosystem services into conservation and development efforts worldwide (www.naturalcapitalproject.org). The policy and finance group builds on the Project’s science and mapping work to devise and recommend policies and payment schemes to reward the conservation of ecosystem services. Position will be responsible for working with field programs to identify potential policy and payment opportunities, building broad partnerships with development institutions and with leaders in private financial markets, and developing the overall strategy for the policy and finance group (in close collaboration with other group members at WWF, TNC, Stanford, and elsewhere).

 

Position requirements: significant and successful experience in international policy, conservation finance, or related fields, with advanced degree in law or policy preferred. Excellent analytical and communication skills, creativity, and an ability to lead by persuasion and build consensus. Strong organization skills and experience in fundraising and project development.
