2009 UTAH WINTER BUSINESS ECONOMICS CONFERENCE
February 26 - 28, 2009

OVERVIEW:
Now in its fourth year, the Utah Winter Business Economics
Conference brings together top scholars in business-related
fields of economics. The conference aims to offer both a
high-quality program and ample opportunity for informal
interaction.
The 2009 event is scheduled for February 26 through 28 in
Salt Lake City, Utah.
PAPER SUBMISSIONS:
We invite submissions of high-quality, unpublished research
on any topic of interest to business economists.
To submit a paper, please visit the Utah Winter Business
Economics Conference website at:

and upload your paper in Adobe PDF or Microsoft Word
format. The submission deadline is Friday, October 31,
2008. All submissions will be reviewed by members of the
program committee, and we expect to announce the final

4TH DYNARE CONFERENCE
September 4-5, 2008
Boston
The 4th annual DYNARE conference -
www.cepremap.cnrs.fr/dynare - will be held
September 4-5, 2008, in Boston, thanks to the hospitality
of the Boston Federal Reserve Bank.
The DYNARE meeting will feature the work of the leading
scholars in monetary policy, DSGE models and related
fields, and will provide an excellent opportunity to
present your own research results.
SPEAKERS:
Jesper Linde (Riksbank) and Frank Schorfheide (U. Penn.)
will be plenary speakers.
TOPICS:
All papers dealing with monetary policy, DSGE modeling, and
computational methods are welcome. Submissions of papers
using other software tools than DYNARE or theoretical
contributions are strongly encouraged.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON APPLIED BUSINESS
AND ECONOMICS (ICABE)
October 2nd - October 4th, 2008
Thessaloniki, Greece
ICABE 2008, International Conference on Applied Business
and Economics will be held from Thursday, October 2nd to
Saturday, October 4th, 2008 at the Aristotle University of
Thessaloniki, Greece. The ICABE 2008 will be the gathering
place for academics and professionals from related fields
from all over the world.
The main goal of the ICABE 2008 is to provide an
opportunity for academics and professionals from a variety
of fields to meet and exchange ideas and expertise. An
additional goal of the ICABE is to provide a place for
academics and professionals with inter-disciplinary
interests related to business-economics to interact with
members within and outside their own particular
disciplines.
The ICABE 2008 organizers invite anyone who wishes to
present a paper to submit an abstract in English by
September 25, 2008 through the online submission form.
Selected papers will be published in the European Research
Studies Journal - www.ersj.eu - and in the
International Review of Applied Economic Research.
PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:
The abstract should be about 200-300 words. All fields of
specialization within business and economics will be taken
into consideration. You will receive a notification by e-
mail once your paper is accepted (or rejected). By
submitting an abstract, you also agree to contribute to the
discussions and/or to their session Chair and discussants
within your area of specialization. The web form provides
an opportunity to identify your areas of specialization. A
participant may not present more than two papers.
Consequently, you cannot register for more than two papers
for presentation unless a third paper is presented by a co-
author who is also registered to participate in the
conference.
Besides the abstract registration, full-length papers can
be submitted either by providing a web link to a
corresponding PDF file on the registration form, or by
uploading a PDF file to the ICABE server by following the
link on the bottom of the registration confirmation page.
Paper/hard copy submissions will not be accepted. In all
cases, presenters are required to provide to their session
Chair and discussant a copy of their paper (preferably
electronically) at least 2 weeks prior to the conference.
Please note that in order to attend or present a paper, you
must register for the conference. Registration is made
online through the conference website or by a bank deposit.
We strongly encourage those contributing papers to become
members of the International Strategic Management
Association. You may join the ISMA and register after you
find out whether your paper is accepted for presentation.
In any case, do not delay too long since late registration
involves a higher fee.

PRESENTING A PAPER:
Paper sessions will consist of three to four presentations
in a 90 minute session divided equally among the
presenters. Panel sessions will last 90 minutes and it is
to the presenters' choice how that time will be split among
panellists.

The Hartog School of Government and Policy is seeking a
Post-Doctoral Fellow in the field of International
Development. The Fellowship starts October 2008, and lasts
for two years.
In addition to conducting original research, the Pears
Post-Doctoral Fellow will be in charge of research projects
conducted by the school and policy-oriented activities
focusing on Israel policies in the area of International
Development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in the field of
International Development, International Relations,
Developmental Economics or any other relevant field.
Experience working with development organizations and/or
international development agencies is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:
As a qualified candidate, you should have a Masters or
Ph.D. in economics, accounting, finance, mathematics,
statistics, or a scientific or related field, with a strong
academic record. You must be detail-oriented and have the
ability to think analytically and critically.
Demonstrate excellent writing and presentation skills and
be fluent in English. Be highly efficient using desktop
tools such as Microsoft Office applications including Word,
Excel, Access and PowerPoint and adept at online research.
Have capabilities with analytical software environments
such as SAS, STATA, Visual Basic, and C/C++.

economics in general and in environmental and climate
