ZEF's Coffee Project (CoCE) at International Coffee Trade Fair

On June 26-28 2009, the ZEF CoCE project participated at the Coffeena International Speciality Coffee Trade Fair, at Kölnmesse, Cologne. The Coffeena trade fair is annually organized by the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe bringing together coffee professionals from all over the world.
The CoCE team held a speech about the importance and challenges of the sustainable use and conservation of forest coffee in Ethiopia. The aim was to raise the awareness of the coffee industry decision makers about the potential and characteristics of Ethiopian forest coffee, about the need to conserve the coffee forest ecosystem and its biodiversity, and to establish linkages between the coffee industry and the implementation-oriented CoCE project parterns in Ethiopia, namely the Ethiopian Coffee Forest Forum (ECFF) and the Darara Buna Biodiversity Conservation and Development Programme.
