Project "State Failure and Local Governance in Somalia and Afghanistan" launched its own website

Starting in July 2004, researchers from the Center for Development Research (ZEF) in Bonn (Dr Conrad Schetter, Ulf Terlinden) and from INEF (Dr Tobias Debiel, Rainer Glassner) have been conducting surveys on how a process of transformation and consolidation has been initiated on the local level.
Which actors take care for a minimum degree of public security, conflict resolution and social well-being? Who is undermining the recovery from state failure? These are some of the key questions that are tackled with financial support of the German Foundation for Peace Research (Osnabrück).
