DESCRIPTION:About the speaker: \nDr. Gaston Sorgho MD\, MPH\, PhD served a
 s the World Bank Group's Practice Manager overseeing health\, nutrition\, 
 and population programs in West Africa. He is a medical doctor with a Mast
 er of Public Health from the University of Amsterdam and a PhD in Public H
 ealth from Harvard School of Public Health. Prior The World Bank\, he held
  various positions at the Ministry of Health in Burkina Faso for over 15 y
 ears. He joined the World Bank in 1999 and retired in 2024. Throughout his
  career\, he worked extensively in Africa\, in a variety of posts ranging 
 from senior public health specialist in the country office of Cote d'Ivoir
 e\, to country representative in Mauritania. He taught health sector refor
 m and Results Based Financing for many years at the World Bank Institute i
 n Washington\, D.C. and across Africa\, Europe\, and Asia. Today he contin
 ues to work with a range of United Nations organizations in support of gov
 ernmental health initiatives and policies.
