Lisa receives certificate of appointment from Bonn University's rector Prof. Dr. h.c. Michael Hoch

On June 2, 2026 ZEF Junior-Professor Lisa Biber-Freudenberger received the official certificate of appointment from Bonn University's Rector Prof. Dr. h.c. Michael Hoch (see photo below). She was accompanied by her husband and son (see the photo at the bottom of the page).

Lisa's full professorship in "Biodiversity and Environmental Change" will take effect on July 1, 2026.

Lisa Biber-Freudenberger is an interdisciplinary human–environment systems researcher with a doctorate in Biodiversity Research from the University of Potsdam, Germany.

She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s degree in International Nature Conservation.

Since 2020, she has been a Junior Professor and led the research group Biodiversity and Sustainable Land Use (LAND) at the Center for Development Research (ZEF) at the University of Bonn, where her work has focused on the complex interactions between human development, land use, biodiversity, and sustainable transformation processes.
