ZEF theme: Health and sanitation

Health and sanitation

Many infectious diseases (tuberculosis, malaria, HIV/Aids) spread rapidly across developing countries. ZEF's research on health covers issues such as the nexus between water supply, sanitation, and agriculture; the role of urbanization; the linkages between human health and environment; and research on health systems. ZEF applies innovative theoretical approaches combining diverse methods to assess health risks, develop governance instruments to target vulnerable segments of the population as well as policies to ameliorate their situation. ZEF's geographical focus is on South Asia, Central Asia and Africa.
