BioSummit – Bioeconomy in Dialogue
The BioSummit project aims to establish a global bioeconomy platform and think tank. Led by the University of Bonn (ZEF) and the International Advisory Council on Global Bioeconomy (IACGB), the initiative seeks to consolidate international communication efforts into a structured partnership.
Building on the G20’s "High Level Principles on Bioeconomy," the project addresses the urgent need for coherent policy frameworks and enhanced international cooperation to drive a sustainable, fossil-lean economic transition. Its methodology centers on multi-stakeholder engagement, involving actors from academia, industry, policy, and civil society. Key activities include defining the platform's core tasks, developing structural concepts, and evaluating partnership models. By delivering crucial knowledge products and supporting the Global Bioeconomy Summit (GBS), the project facilitates strategy alignment and identifies innovative pathways for inclusive development. Ultimately, the project strengthens global alliances to ensure the global bioeconomy contributes effectively to climate mitigation, biodiversity, and circularity.
