CB4SoilReha: Research and capacity building for inter-sectorial private sector involvement for soil rehabilitation

The main goal of the project is an increased business thinking and private sector engagement in Resources Recovery and Reuse (RRR) to enhance soil health and resilient ecosystem services in peri-urban areas. This is achieved by by returning organic carbon and nutrients to agricultural soils in low-income countries. Technical research is undertaken to find suitable faecal sludge conversion and composting systems to develop organic fertilizer. This fertilizer will be verified according to its value and safe application.

ZEF’s activities in the CB4SoilReha project are to analyse the investment climate and enabling conditions for RRR options in selected countries in South Asia. The research group identifies stakeholders and existing RRR projects to analyse economic and regulatory frameworks and to deliver country investment briefs and policy recommendations.
