WISDOM - Water-related Information System for the Sustainable Development of the Mekong Delta
The overall goal of the WISDOM project was to design and implement a platform for the collection, exchange and processing of water-related information for the Mekong Delta in Vietnam.
‘WISDOM’ stands for “Water-related Information System for the Sustainable Development of the Mekong Delta, Vietnam”. The project was funded by BMBF, set up in 2007 and finalized in 2013. ZEF was one of two social science partners in the project’s research consortium.
The information system that was developed by the interdisciplinary research consortium with 19 German and Vietnamese partners contains information from various fields ranging from hydrology, sociology, and information technology to earth observation. It provides operational services for water resources management agencies and other users in the project region.
