I am an interdisciplinary researcher currently pursuing a PhD in Development Studies through the DAAD-EPOS program. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Applied Ecology from Universidad San Francisco de Quito (EC) and a Master of Science in Agroecology from Wageningen University (NL), where my research focused on coffee peasant production in southern Ecuador. Additionally, I have completed a specialization in Project Management for Development at FLACSO, the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences. My engagement and experience with peasant communities in southern Ecuador motivated my PhD project, titled "The Cocoa Society: A Political Ecology of Cocoa Production in Azuay, Ecuador." This research examines how the commodification of cocoa influences territorial dynamics and affects peasants' food sovereignty. My fieldwork is supported by a PhD grant from the Foundation Fiat Panis.
