I am a researcher and committed professional in the field of socio-environmental conflicts, focusing on the intersection between agrarian and environmental agendas for the Amazon. I have held leadership positions in civil society organizations and have been working closely with social organizations in the Colombian Amazon.
My doctoral project, "Unraveling the Crime of Deforestation: Cattle, Labor, and Injustice," seeks to understand the actors involved in the expansion of deforestation and how anti-deforestation measures have affected them. From a decolonial political ecology perspective, I aim to examine the power dynamics embedded in the cattle-ranching model and in the judicial-military practices of deforestation control.
