Theresa Pieper studied International and Development Economics, holding degrees from the University of Tübingen, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Lund University. She joined the Center for Development Research as a junior researcher and doctoral candidate in 2023. Her work examines the intersection of electrification and labor outcomes, with a particular interest in understanding who benefits from expanded energy access and how infrastructure roll-outs can be designed to promote equitable development. Her research pays special attention to impacts on women, youth, and children.
