Gideon Tups is a Senior Researcher in the ZEF/IACGB project "BioSummit – Bioeconomy in Dialogue." He earned his PhD in Economic Geography within the CRC Future Rural Africa at the University of Cologne’s Geography Department, focusing his research on agrarian value chains, rural development, and large-scale infrastructure. Before joining ZEF, Dr. Tups gained extensive experience as Policy Advisor in the development sector at GIZ, where he worked on food systems transformation, fertilizer markets, and biotechnology. His broader research expertise encompasses various contemporary themes, including digitalization in agriculture, uneven development, financialization, Global Production Networks/Global Value Chains, and the concept of future-making.
