Dr. Jaenicke has over 30 years’ experience in team leadership, project & financial management and the coordination of multidisciplinary collaborative teams, primarily in Africa and Asia. She has extensive experience in research funding; development of calls for proposals within competitive funding mechanisms; evaluation of concept papers; preparation of project documentation; and monitoring of project results. She studied agricultural sciences at Bonn University and earned her doctorate in biology from the Technical University of Darmstadt. She lived and worked in Kenya, UK and Sri Lanka 1992-2010. Currently, she is project manager of the INTERFACES project at ZEF. She also holds a guest lectureship on International Development Policy at Geisenheim University and works as evaluator for the European research framework programs and as reviewer for various international scientific journals.
