Prof. Dr. Klaus Frohberg, Dr. John Mburu, Dr. Daniel Müller and Paul Guthiga (ZEFb) went to Kakamega (Kenya) to conduct a BIOTA project workshop on 17 April 2007. The goal of the workshop was to disseminate the preliminary results of subproject E13 of the Biota East Africa project, and also equip local stakeholders with knowledge of the costs and benefits of managing and conserving Kakamega forest in order to enhance their capacity to participate in management activities and decision making processes. The workshop was rated very successful and attracted local and national media coverage.
