ZEF involved in new MSc course in Global Health Risk Management and Hygiene Policies at Bonn University starting in October 2017

ZEF will organize a module in a new MSc course in Global Health Risk Management and Hygiene Policies at Bonn University starting from October 2017. The two-year course will be supported by the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS). It aims at training leaders in implementing and monitoring (UN and WHO-based) public health strategies in health and hygiene policies and administration, especially in low- and middle-income countries. The overall setting is to accomplish the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The new Master's course has a unique concept for teaching and dealing with the topic of Global Health. Among the SDGs on which the course is built upon are: reducing the number of deaths and illnesses from hazardous chemicals and air, water and soil pollution and contamination, achieving universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water as well as access to adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene for all and universal health coverage.
Overcoming these challenges requires health workers with skills in the realm of public health, as trained in the new MSc program at the University of Bonn. The program provides young-and-upcoming researchers with skills to continue their career paths in health-related management, policy making or policy advise, health and social advocacy, research or teaching positions at international, national and regional levels, implementation of current or future health governance in ministries, academic institutions, NGOs or transnational enterprises.
ZEFs module will deal with "SDGs as Guiding Principles and Global Consent" and will be taught from August 20- September 23, 2018.
