Global Development Medal for ZEF Alumni

Dr. Adama Konseiga, a former ZEFb doctoral student and DAAD scholar, has won the prestigious 2005 Global Development Medal for Outstanding Research on Development at the Global Development Network Annual Meeting in Dakar, Senegal. The first prize of USD 10,000 in the category “Mutual impact, the global economic architecture, and the Millennium Development Goals” was awarded to him for his doctoral research on “Regional integration beyond the traditional trade benefits: labor mobility contribution the case of Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire”. Dr. Adama Konseiga conducted his research at ZEF and received a doctoral degree with distinction in economics from the University of Clermont Ferrand in France. His study was financially supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ).
