ZEF Public Lecture: Data for People

As modern research ethics enters its social justice era, researchers are faced with a proliferation of ethical considerations to negotiate. I suggest a simple framework focusing on research participant empowerment, accessibility, safety, and inclusivity (EASI) as a means for navigating between and across epistemologies, disciplines, and methods. I discuss practical implications as well as potential barriers to its implementation. I invite participants to reflect on their own research experiences as part of a broader dialogue on the future of social science research within the Global South.
