ZEF alumna Rohini Mitra was awarded the "Best Dissertation Prize" by the American Political Science Association (APSA) under their Migration and Citizenship Section. The award ceremony will take place during the Annual APSA meeting in Boston, USA, September 2026.

Rohini Mitra (ZEF BIGS-DR Batch 2021) completed her PhD at ZEF in 2025. Her dissertation topic was "Navigating (In)visibility: Rohingya Refugees and the Politics of Fragmented Governance in India".

Her doctoral degree was granted by the Faculty of Arts, University of Bonn. Her doctoral research was supervised by Prof. Dr. Conrad Schetter (BICC).

Currently, Rohini is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Göttingen, Germany.


Rohini's doctoral research was funded by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.
