Remittances, CCTs and children’s human capital
The research evaluates how conditional cash transfers (CCTs) and international remittances affect school enrollment and child labor. Also, the research explores how CCTs affected child nutrition before and during the food price crisis of 2008. The analysis relies on survey data collected in multiple rounds for the evaluation of a CCT program in El Salvador and uses multiple econometric methods to identify the effect of the program on the outcomes of interest.
