Right Livelihood Campus Bonn at ZEF
The Right Livelihood College (RLC) is a global capacity building initiative of the Right Livelihood Award Foundation, popularly known as the "Alternative Nobel Prize". RLC aims to harness and to spread the knowledge and experience of the winners of the Right Livelihood Award - by means of promoting research, education, public understanding and practical activities worldwide. The Director of RLC is Prof. Dr. Anwar Fazal from Malaysia.
Aims and Activities
The RLC Campus Bonn, Germany, was inaugurated on May 30, 2011. It is hosted by the Center for Development Research (ZEF) at the University of Bonn, and financed by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The aim of the RLC Campus Bonn is to promote exchange and synergies between the RLA laureates' work and applied interdisciplinary research and education, particularly in the fields of poverty alleviation, environmental sustainability, and social justice.
The RLC Campus Bonn provides 3-year PhD scholarships for research projects relevant to the laureates' work, organizes international conferences, workshops and research seminars, and allows interested and qualified doctoral and MSc students to work with laureates.
