I study the effects of climate change on development outcomes in sub-Saharan Africa. My research deploys econometric methods on household surveys and geospatial weather datasets. In my dissertation, I primarily seek to understand how rural households adapt to climate change through employment choices and sectoral labour allocation in Ethiopia, and the role of climate change on gender inequality in agricultural production especially in the presence of insecure land property rights in Tanzania. Lastly, I seek to investigate the role of climate change structural transformation pattern in SSA, that is widely considered as unique and distinct.
