Abstract: For too long the Great Green Wall has been a dream. More than ten years after its launch, the epic ambition of converting Africa's drylands into green and productive landscapes where rural communities would thrive remains elusive. However, FAO's Action Against Desertification could be a game-changer. Years of restoration work have made real changes in the lives of thousands of people. Bringing its successful model to scale offers a real chance to make the dream come true.
