Memorandum of Understanding between ZEF/University of Bonn and the National Statistic and Information Authority in Afghanistan

The Memdorandum of Understanding was signed in Kabul, Afghanistan, by ZEF Alumnus Dr. Fazlullah Akhtar on behalf of the University of Bonn and Mr. Ahmad Jawed Rasuli, Director General of the National Statistic and Information Authority (NSIA) in Afghanistan (see picture).

ZEF Alumnus <link https: www.zef.de external-link-new-window internal link in current> Fazlullah Akhtar, who is now working for the office of the Chief Advisor to the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and ZEF senior researcher <link https: www.zef.de external-link-new-window internal link in current>Dr. Chiara Kofol have played a key part in setting up this research collaboration between ZEF/University of Bonn and the National Statistic and Information Authority (NSIA) in Afghanistan.

The NSIA is an independent Governmental administration for the purpose of creating and integrating scientific systems for "ensuring harmonization and coordination of all statistical activities in Afghanistan".

The institutes will collaborate "in the conduct and promotion of joint research projects" such as sharing data, partnering in research grants applications and co-authoring of journal articles.
