ZEF's Annual Report 2007/2008 has just been published!
We are proud to share with you our research high-lights of the past year. You can read about the progress made on the core research themes and major research projects of the Center for Development Research.
This year's focus is on the topic of land degradation - and we selected some of our current research on the issue for more extensive coverage. "In our view, the issue of land degradation requires more scientific, political and public attention in order to stop this global, devastating process which will affect us all in the end" says ZEF director Paul Vlek. "We are convinced that trans-disciplinary research is essential for the success of this rescue effort, combining the necessary approaches and developing integrated solutions", he adds.
Among the contents you'll find a preface by Uwe Holtz, member of the UNCCD Panel of Eminent Personalities and articles by ZEF senior staff on Afforestation in Uzbekistan and Multi-scale assessments of land degradation in West Africa.
