Abstract:

This presentation will look at developments in Africa over the last decade—particularly advancements in technology, capacities, organizational infrastructure, and understanding of how markets work—to demonstrate how Africa is now in a position to expedite an agricultural transformation across the continent with smallholder farmers at its core. Dr. Kalibata will talk to Africa’s agricultural transformation both through the lens of AGRA and from her own experiences in leading agricultural development in Rwanda as Minister for Agriculture and Animal Resources. This will be followed by an interactive Q&A session.
