Prof. Muhammad Yunus is a Bangladeshi economist and founder of the Grameen Bank, which provides micro-credit to help its clients establish creditworthiness and financial self-sufficiency. Micro-finance has become an essential tool for promoting development. In 2006 Prof. Yunus and his Grameen Bank received the Nobel Prize for Peace for his work.
