One out of three people in the world suffers from one or several forms of malnutrition—and every third person lives in a water-stressed environment---and both trends are worsening. What is the role of irrigation in the competition for water resources, water stress and pollution compared to its role for nutrition? And what is the role of nutrition strategies in degrading our water resource base? This talk focuses on the interlinkages among water, irrigation and nutrition and will present insights on how nutrition and water security outcomes could be improved through cross-sectoral action at various scales.
This is a public seminar. Entrance is free.
