SDG5 – Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls

Why is SDG 5 on gender equality and women empowerment needed? Is it really that important – and is it exciting? What is gender – really?And what does it have to do with the agricultural sector? Dr. Tina Beuchelt will provide some answers to these questions on Dec, 14th.
She will discuss briefly the SDG and terminology. Then she focuses on gender aspects in the agricultural sector across the world. Using many examples, she will discuss the role of women – and men - in agriculture in Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia, discover similarities and differences and reflect on our own understanding of gender and empowerment.
