The Emerging Sustainable Development Goals. Panel discussion at ZEF.

September 18, 2014 | 12:00 h - 13:30 h

We regret to inform you about a change in our public lecture program scheduled for this Thursday, September 18, 12:00 AM.

Our invited speaker, Professor Klaus Töpfer, will not be able to give his  talk on "The Emerging Sustainable Development Goals" due to a bereavement of a family relative.

ZEF will, however, not cancel the event, but has instead organized a panel on the Sustainable Development Goals agenda with the following speakers:

  • Prof. Jan Börner, ZEF, and Member of Germany’s Sustainable Development Solutions Network Steering Committee
  • Prof. Bina Agarwal, University of Manchester and University of Delhi, India (Member of ZEF Board)
  • Prof. Lisa Sennerby Forsse, Rector of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Uppsala, Sweden (ZEF Board Member)

The panel will be moderated by ZEF director Joachim von Braun

The panel will focus on the environmental dimensions of the emerging Sustainable Development Goals and their linkages to the overarching goals of ending extreme poverty and hunger; and the role of research for effective implementation of the SDGs.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to this modified program at ZEF on Thursday and to engaging with you in a lively discussion. The seminar will be followed by a light lunch.

Venue: ZEF (Center for Development Research), Walter Flex Straße 3, 53113 Bonn (see <link>map), conference room, ground floor.
