We would like to cordially invite you to a ZEF public seminar on "Sparing vs. Sharing: Addressing drivers of deforestation and forest degradation"
The seminar will take place at ZEF on Thursday, June 9, 2 -4 p.m. in ZEF right conference room, ground floor.
Chair of the seminar: Henry Neufeldt (Climate Change Lead Scientist, ICRAF)
Speakers and topics will deal with:
* An overview of the “sparing” and “sharing” approaches to drivers of deforestation by Peter Minang, (Senior Scientist and Alternative Slash and Burn Coordinator (ASB, Nairobi)
* Meso-level evidence on the sparing hypothesis from Indonesia
* Meso-level evidence on the sparing hypothesis from Brazil
* Towards a sharing hypothesis (wildlife farming and PES or multifunctional landscapes concepts) by Meine van Noordwijk (Global Science Adviser, ICRAF, Indonesia)
This activity is reconducting the SBSTA (Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change) side-event meeting at ZEF.
